Alpha table discussion

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of conversations about the things we question in life: Why is life so hard? Can my life have a greater meaning? Where do I belong? Will I ever be happy? If you're looking for a judgment-free space to connect with new people, discover new perspectives, process questions around faith, and have conversation about real things, this is the place for you.

Alpha gatherings launched in community spaces around the city and online on September 18, 2022 and will continue through November 20, 2022.  Though official registration is closed, email us if you'd like to attend.

New groups will be starting Jan/Feb 2023. More information to come!

  • 1. CONNECTION

Connecting with others is what we were made for. All sessions start with a time to connect over food (if in-person), eliminating awkwardness and creating space for important conversations.

  • 2. CONTENT

Small films with big ideas: Each evening features a 25-minute film designed to inspire more questions than provide answers. These short films explore the big issues around faith, and guests from any background can unpack the basics of Christian faith. Bring your questions, you’ll find you’re not alone.

  • 3. CONVERSATION

Discuss the questions that matter to you: After the film discussion in small groups is where you can share your thoughts and hear from others. Those who attend Alpha share that their small group discussions are hands-down the best part of the experience. The goal is conversation, not consensus.

What People Are Saying

“I have never felt more accepted and loved than I did in Alpha. It was like I found hope again in my life.”

Kaylee

“One of the best experiences of my life. When I joined Alpha, I wasn’t sure what it was but what I found was special. I loved the videos, the small groups, and the laughter that bound it all together.”

Alex

I’m a Christian, and I’m also a seeker. I will never stop asking questions and thinking deeply. Alpha is a place where I know that I’m loved, where I can explore with others, and not be judged.”

Brooke

"I was raised to believe that only certain believers were condoned by God. The entry gates to heaven were mostly locked. I was never able to accept the exclusivity of this faith. The discussion facilitated on Alpha enabled everyone to express their ideas and doubts and ask their questions. I appreciated that.”

Alpha is for everyone who is willing to have an honest conversation. No matter your background, history, or beliefs. You are welcome.

WHAT HAPPENS AT ALPHA?

Whether in person or online, each Alpha offers a time of connection to build relationships (in-person that is often over food), a short film is presented, and then space for conversation about the content of each film. In that discussion, you can share what you think—as much or as little as you want—and nothing is off limits.

Since then, it has become an international organization. Millions have now experienced Alpha in over 100 countries and over 100 languages around the globe.
